danube IT is the independent consulting practice of Moritz Straub — 15+ years leading network, security and infrastructure at global scale. Vendor-neutral guidance for CIOs, IT leaders and investors.
From architecture decisions to vendor negotiations and cross-border integration — the work where getting it right early saves years and budget later.
SD-WAN, SASE / Zero Trust, segmentation and resilient connectivity across distributed and global sites.
Private cloud, edge and target operating models that scale internationally without losing control.
Policies, standards and security baselines that hold up to audits and regulatory pressure.
Independent, hands-on evaluation, RFPs and negotiation — free of vendor bias, focused on your case.
Integrating and harmonising IT across locations, countries and corporate boundaries.
Most engagements start with one focused conversation. Tell me the problem — I'll tell you honestly if I'm the right person.
A selection of results delivered in global, multi-site environments. Client names withheld by principle.
Figures reflect responsibilities and projects led in prior and current leadership roles. Presented anonymously and without implying endorsement by any employer.
Beyond projects, I take on paid expert calls and short advisory engagements: for investors running technical due diligence, vendors pressure-testing their roadmap, and teams wanting an experienced view on infrastructure, network or security decisions before they commit.
Engagements are selective and scoped to senior advisory:
An IT leader with 15+ years across corporate and mid-market environments — including global-scale roles spanning dozens of countries. Today he heads IT at a mid-sized manufacturing company in Lower Bavaria; earlier he led network and security operations at the IT subsidiary of a major automotive group based in Salzburg.
His work spans global network and security platforms, private cloud and operating models, IT governance, and the integration of IT across sites and countries. Calm, structured and outcome-focused — equally at ease with C-level stakeholders and deep technical teams.
Tell me the challenge in a few lines, or book a short intro call. I typically reply within two working days.
